I believe the original was recorded in a Berlin opera house in May 1930,which gives the original an extra reverb.I am glad people are discovering how good this 20s 30s stuff can be.

The original recording was by Jack Hylton and his band, and made in 1930. It remains as fresh and lively today as it must have been when it was first released.
